The characters of Precious have been born through childhood memories and personal observations of pets as family members. These works are a direct contrast to the previous solo show Mongrel which featured ubiquitous camp dogs from indigenous communities. Precious explores the domesticated, well groomed, educated and perhaps spoilt animal family we nurture in our households and hold close to our hearts. Somewhere between toys and child like pets the Precious menagerie examines how animals perfectly adapt to share and enrich our lives.
